Combined with her extensive consulting experience in management values congruency, Ilsé has designed your program to give you practical tools to establish a strong ethical climate. This program draws upon Australasian research and applications for the latest strategies in ethical leadership.

Online Course
The Ethical Leadership
The Ethical Leadership online course is designed for executives and practitioners who are responsible for developing business and leadership ethics outcomes. The course brings attention to outcomes such as ethical leadership as a discipline, creating a positive speak up culture and barriers to business ethics. This course was developed in response to the global need for business and leadership ethics training for executives. The rise in business and leadership ethics research has produced empirical evidence that offers new ways at looking at business ethics and ethical behaviours. These strategies have been translated into a learning and development program for executives, emerging leaders and practitioners.
Unit 1 – Overarching Ethical Leadership Frameworks
Module 1 – Ethical philosophical frameworks
Gain an understanding about the ethical philosophical frameworks, develop awareness about ethical values, attitudes and beliefs and explore the social-constructs and challenges of ethical leadership
Module 2 – Ethical leadership
Identify the ecosystem of ethical leadership and relevant theory and frameworks, and develop a richer understanding about the various barriers to ethical leadership skills and capabilities.
Module 3 – Fostering a speak-up culture
Learn how to recognise the employee voice cliches and idioms, receive an introduction to different forms of voice behaviour and learn about the ethical cultural roots and the roles and responsibilities of management.
Module 4 – Understanding voice behaviour
Gain a broad understanding of employee voice behaviour, learn about the motivations for speaking up or staying silent, discover the different forms of voice behaviour and the affective internal and external factors.
Unit – Ethical Leadership and Voice
Module 5 – Factors affecting voice
Develop and understanding of the individual factors affecting voice behaviour, leadership issues regarding speaking up and moral mutism, macro context factors in acts of voice, and the nature of morally mute infrastructures
Module 6 – Ethical climate and voice
Learn about ethical climate perspectives and characteristics, explore Victor and Cullen’s (1988) Ethical Climate assessment and identify the nature of morally mute climates
Module 7 – Moral disengagement and voice
Learn about individual moral agency, explore Albert Bandura’s moral disengagement theory, identify types of unethical leadership practices and learn about ethically distortive communication.
Module 8 – Moral values and voice
Gain introductory knowledge of Schwartz’s Values framework, understand the motivational nature of values, learn about the negative consequences of self-interested values, and develop an awareness about cognitively re-ordering values.
Unit – Overcoming Barriers to Speak Up Cultures
Module 9 – Professional trust in ethical leaders
Develop an awareness of various leadership constructs, understand a leader’s professional ethics responsibilities, learn about the ‘dysfunctional dozen’ and the nature of professional trust.
Module 10 – Shared values and voice
Understand the leader as the values signaller, learn about the ethics of values signalling and identify the dark-sides of organisational identification and the nature and challenges associated with shared values.
Module 11 – Ethical communication
Learn about the importance of two-way communication, identify the ‘red-flags’ in organisational communication and develop new skills in applying mental models such as inquiry-advocacy for improving ethical communication.
Module 12 – Ethical cultural change
Understand the role of the leader as an ethical cultural change agent, develop an awareness about the stages of ethical decision-making, and learn about the leader’s role in ethical change management.

- This course is a 1 day course for attendees of Live or Face to Face sessions.
